From the Dust of the Earth
From the Dust of the Earth is a performance by Julien Klopfenstein, born from a collaboration with the Apollo Gallery Budapest. It draws inspiration from the works of Júlia Néma, displayed at the gallery during the creation process. The performance builds on the materiality of Néma’s art, as well as the philosophy of Butoh dance. It explores themes of nature, impermanence, transformation, and the connection between the human body and the raw elements of the earth. Using clay, as well as sand and stone sourced from Hungarian mines, Julien creates a mysterious and hypnotic danced poem.
